Robert James - Dekalb County Solicitor General
Robert is a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Robert is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State
University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and was a member of the University
Basketball Team and President of the African-American Student Association. After graduation, Robert
moved to Atlanta where he earned a Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law
presently, Robert volunteers with various organizations in DeKalb County. Robert is a member of the
South DeKalb Neighborhood’s Coalition, and serves on the board of directors for the DeKalb Regional
citizens. and is the proud father of one daughter, Brooklyn M. James. Robert is a member of Ray of
Hope Christian Church in Decatur, Georgia, where Reverend Cynthia L. Hale is pastor. Robert has
been an active member of the athletic ministry at Ray of Hope, and has served as a youth mentor and
basketball coach for young men.
Barbara Barnes is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of Spelman College, Clark Atlanta
and Jacksonville State Universities. She has worked in the field of education for over thirty years.
Board, Deaconess Ministry, Acapella Anthem Choir, Combined Choir and the Hand bell Choir.
Mrs. Barnes is a widow, the mother of one daughter, Alexia Price, two sons, Leck and Bobby
Herrington and the grandmother of four, Alexandria, Michael, Jarvis and Jabari.
Christine White a native of Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. White work for years as the Manager of Finance and
Accounting at Fort McPherson. Ms. White attends Turner Chapel African Methodist Episcopal in the
Rev. Calvin Peterson
Founder and Director of Disabled in Action.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia he attended Archer High School. Mr. Pealer is a Vietnam Veteran.
Graduated from Atlanta Area Tech, Dual Degree from Metropolitan College in Electronics and Political
Science. Mr. Pealer is married to Cindy and they have three lovely children.
Alvin R. Dollar
A third generation native Atlantian. Alvin was educated in the Atlanta Public Schools. He received a
B.A. Degree in Political Science and History from Morehouse College. He received a M.S. Degree from
Georgia State University in Human Resource Management. Alvin has worked in the development of
numerous community based Social and Human service agencies. He is a member of the Georgia Black
Assoc. of Black Social workers. Alvin is married to Deloris for more than thirty-five years, they have
three adult sons, Ramascus, Damascus are twins and Alyle. Alvin is actively and continuously involved
in many civil and political issues and he is a member of Greenforest Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sandra Browner
Mrs. Sandra Browner is a native of Guyana, now she resides in Lithonia, Georgia.
She received a Bachelor of Arts-Social Work at Herbert H. Lehman College and received her Master of
Social Work at New York University. She is a member of Saint Mark African Methodist Episcopal
Church where she sings in the Mass Choir and the United Voices of Praise. She is a member of the
National Association of Social Workers and the Georgia Council on Social Welfare. She is married and
has five children and two grandsons.
Kenneth Browner is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He is a the Chief Executive Officer at KES, Inc. Mr.
Browner graduated from Tuskegee University. Mr. Browner attends Saint Mark African Methodist
Episcopal Church. He is married and have five children and two grandsons.
